Everybody needs a place to rest
To say that everybody needs a place to rest isn't all that controversial. Whether a place to sit when eating lunch or waiting for the bus or just a place to sit and think or watch the city - we all need a good place to sit. For some reason, however, the city doesn't want anyone to sit here. Don't we want this space to be welcoming? What can we do to change this?
This bench was made in March 2024 from leftover salvaged Douglas Fir. The sliding dovetail construction is a simple and pleasant way to join wood together for a very long time. The upside down U shape of the legs is a design element borrowed from the Stone Arch bridge.
